Join us as we start a beginner friendly quilt. Learn all the skills to make a quilt from start to finish. Skills like: cutting fabric with a rotary cutter, reading a pattern, 1/4 inch seaming, straight line quilting, binding a quilt, and more. Perfect for first time sewers or quilt makers.
This class will be done in 3 parts over 3 different months.
Month 1 (November 2nd) We will cut all the materials and go over the pattern and begin working on the blocks.
Month 2 (December 7th) We will assemble all the blocks and add borders to the top. We will also begin marking our tops for quilting.
Month 3 (January 4th) We will finish the quilting process, and bind the quilt.
Supply List:
Boomerang pattern by fabric cafe
Quilt in a day half square triangle ruler (not required but highly reccomended)
Rotary cutter, cutting mat, and 24 inch long ruler. ( For cutting fabric)
Pins and/or wonder clips
Thread & matching bobbin
Fabric marking pen (heat removable or water soly)
Scissors
Iron & small pressing mat
Sewing machine & 1/4 inch piecing foot
3- (1) yard cuts of 3 different prints
1/2 a yard of material for binding
3 yards backing ( Will not need until month 2)
Quilt basting spray (will not need until month 2)
Batting that is at least 50X65 ( will not need until month 2)
Walking foot if you have one for quilting ( will not need until month 2)
